A Lifetime of Service

Graduated cum laude from Harvard in 1967 before attending the University of Virginia medical school.
After graduating from medical school in 1971, Dr. Robinson completed overseas rotations at St. Bart’s Hospital and the National Heart Hospital in London before conducting his residency in surgery at Emory University and his residency in Neurosurgery at Northwestern University.

Has served as a Professor of Surgery at Mercer Medical School since 1981 and currently sits on the Board of Trustees for the university.

Since 1985, he has served as President of the Georgia Neurosurgical Institute.
Appointed the Chief of Neurosurgery at the Medical Center of Central Georgia (Now Atrium Health Navicent) in 1988.
Founding member of the Georgia Board of Physician Work Force in 2007, serving as Chairman of the Board from 2009 to 2013 and was instrumental in establishing the Georgia Trauma Commission.
Has been a regular presence on local access television in Middle Georgia since 2010, with his show Observations featuring a variety of guests to discuss the issues of the day.

Published his first book, Towards Healthcare Resource Stewardship, in 2012
Was named “Physician of the Year” in 2021 by the Bibb County Medical Society.

In 2022, he published his second book, A New Chapter in an Old War: COVID-19 Strikes the World Order.

The American Healthcare System: Battlefield Reflections,” his third book, was published in 2024.
Presented at the 2024 CLAN Chile discussing the possible relationship between chronic CSF flow disruption and the development of dementia.
